Javier Devitt is a Los Angeles-based filmmaker originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He began his career in advertising, working across production and post-production before moving into directing.
In 2017, he received a grant from INCAA (Argentina’s National Film Institute) to direct his first narrative project, M, an episodic horror/thriller that premiered in the Independent TV Pilot competition at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival. M went on to screen at over twenty international festivals and earned multiple awards.
His latest work, Eyestring, a horror/mystery short, premiered at the 2023 SXSW Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Poster Design.
